NELSONN'S DRAFT DEFINITION OF ASSEMBLISM
“Assemblism is the form of art produced by the use of skill, method or technique and imagination, and the ‘ Ten Principles of Assemblism', to construct and assemble individual components made specifically by or for the artist.”
(This is in contrast to Collage or Assemblage, where the constituent elements are often found or readymade objects or pieces).
“The work produced by the assembly of these parts or elements is intended to generate an emotion in the viewer or recipient and to convey a message for interpretation, with the specific aim to educate and enlighten. The message conveyed in the work being related to the Assemblist Manifesto, and any additions to the main manifesto added by an individual Assemblist artist.”

The building is normally open to the public every day from 9.30am until after the evening performance. On non-performance days the Tickets & Information Office remains open until 8.00pm, but the other public areas of the building are usually closed at 5.00pm.

GLYN FREEMAN is a full time fully qualified fly casting instructor and guide, an active member of (Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors). Qualifications - Masters in Salmon and Trout disciplines, Advanced Fly Dressing, and (Federation of Fly Fishers USA) Masters Trout. Full liability insurance, CRB (criminal records bureau) checked, child protection awareness, L20, licensed coach and first aid.
Glyn has fished in Cumbria and the Borders for over twenty years. He is based on the River Eden where he is a river keeper on the lower river and fly casting instructor/guide for John Norris of Penrith . A member of the Scott professional fly casting team,and holds an (Institute of Fisheries Management certificate).
